Black and white
There’s something about a beautiful black and white photo that grabs my attention over colour. There’s no place to get lost in an abundance of colour and detail with just black and white. In my view, black and white photos are straight to the point. I took this beauty at a location familiar to local photographers and sight-seekers around Geelong and the Surfcoast, Point Lonsdale Pier. With such spectacular views, walking up the long pier to see the area’s more expansive views is a real treat. The surrounding beaches are no exception; rock formations to navigate and observe for as far as the eye can see. A beautiful beach to walk along for days, I can quite easily lose a whole day here. I shot this picture at nighttime; the darkness adds an aura of mystery and accentuates the starbursts shining out from the lights. I love it.
