“I didn’t choose photography, photography chose me.” – Gerardo Suter
My trusty Cannon camera and me are like best friends.
My camera has helped me to heal from a serious health challenge and to reconnect with my healthy self and my family. Seeing the world through the lens has helped me to come out of my shell and begin a journey of discovery. With my camera, I experience life as it unfolds right outside my front door. I call this camera-and-me time my own personal kind of meditation, where I become immersed in capturing moments as they occur. I record precious moments that I want to keep. I love capturing them and freezing them forever.
Photography is my passion, and I strive to capture the beauty around me with every photograph. I record the moments, the emotions, and the spirit of the moment.
“How do we start taking pictures of people and stop taking pictures of poses?” – Justin and Mary Marantz
Not everyone is a fan of being in front of the camera.
I’m reluctant to pose for a photo – when told to “smile,” I look glum. No worries, though, because I don’t take posed images. I capture reflections of real life. I seek the natural look rather than the posed look. I like my photos to go beyond the surface level and reveal the story beneath. Everyone has stories, and my mission is to help each person’s story to emerge through the photos I take.
What can you expect when I’m behind the camera?
Photography is my passion, and I strive to capture the world’s beauty with every photograph. I record the moments, the emotions, and the spirit of the moment.
